Shelly Tambo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shelly Tambo was a fictional character in the television series Northern Exposure. She was played by Cynthia Geary.
Shelly was married to (but apparently never cohabited with) her schoolmate Wayne Jones, a hockey player, having consented to marry him so that he'd stop asking.
As a high school beauty queen from Saskatoon, she was brought to Cicely, Alaska, by local millionaire Maurice Minnifield, who hoped to marry her until she fell for his best friend, sexagenarian Holling Vincoeur.
Shelly is Roman Catholic by upbringing, but Chris Stevens performed her wedding to Holling.
Within a year or two after moving in with Holling, Shelly suffered a hysterical pregnancy. They later had a daughter, Miranda. While pregnant Shelly briefly found herself compelled to sing rather than speak. She is also fluent in Spanish and Italian.
Shelley grew up without the presence of her father, and being "a big sister" to her feckless mother.
