Shelly Palmer

Shelton ("Shelly") Leigh Palmer is a New York City based composer who is well known for his music for television. He has composed many familiar themes, including the themes and underscore for Live with Regis and Kelly, Spin City, and MSNBC. In addition, he has composed several television news music packages, the most prolific among them is the Palmer News Package which was originally composed for WCBS-TV.
He is managing partner of Advanced Media Ventures Group LLC, a technology, media and entertainment consulting practice. He is the creator and executive producer of HotPop, a teen lifestyle and music show currently airing on Starz/Encore's WAM! Network as well as the patented inventor of Enhanced Television for ABC (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Monday Night Football).
Palmer won the award for Most Performed Television Themes at the 12th & 13th Annual ASCAP Film & Television Awards. One of his most noted compositions was “Anthem” which was commissioned by the Parsons Dance Company which received rave reviews from the New York media when it premièred. He has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra and was a guest conductor of the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Moscow during the 1988 Goodwill Games. He also wrote the "Meow Mix" Jingle for the cat food brand.
Palmer is currently 1st Vice President and a governor of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences chapter in New York, was the music director for the 2005 New York Emmy Awards. He created and oversees the Advanced Media Technology Emmy Awards and is the chairman of the national Emmy Advanced Media Committee which is responsible for honoring excellence in the science and technology of the media business.
Palmer's music also can be heard on the NYC Media Group's Inside the Archives which airs on NYCTV and WNYE-TV.
