[edit] Episode recap

The gang are playing a game of baseball, with Roy at the bat and Wade as umpire. Roy hits the ball out into the outfield, and when Sheldon tries to catch it, it naturally bounces off his shell. Meanwhile, Roy goes for a home run and when he gets to home plate, he crashes into Wade with so much force that no one can tell if Wade tagged him out or not. Nonetheless, Wade insists that Roy was out, while Roy declares that he was safe (this argument continues throughout the episode).

Orson and Booker try to convince Sheldon to let one of the hens hatch him, and while Sheldon is initially reluctant, he eventually agrees to it. But when the three of them go to the henhouse, they don’t find any hens because of a strike; Booker then suggests that Orson sit on Sheldon to hatch him because he is the only one there big enough to. Orson reluctantly agrees.

At one point while Orson is sitting on Sheldon, he gets a snack attack and temporarily leaves. While he is gone, the fox comes into the henhouse and decides to take Sheldon because there are no hens there to steal. He takes him past Wade and Roy (who are still arguing about the baseball game), and they quickly run into the henhouse and inform Orson and Booker. Orson then decides to turn into his superhero alter-ego Power Pig in order to save Sheldon, but he is temporarily detained because everyone else is busy frantically laughing at his superhero costume.

The gang soon finds the fox in the woods preparing to cook Sheldon. Orson tries to think of a brilliant plan to save Sheldon, but Roy has a better idea: he brings Orson right up to the fox and tells Orson to tell the fox who he is. He tells the fox that he is Power Pig, and the fox laughs so uncontrollably that Sheldon flies out of his hand and is then caught by Orson. They run back to farm to the farm and Orson resumes sitting on Sheldon until he begins to hatch, but when he hatches completely, it is revealed that there is another shell under the previous shell. Sheldon then walks off only to be confronted by the fox, but Sheldon uses his legs to pick up the fox by his nose and throws him off into the distance. Sheldon then concludes that there are worse things to be than just an egg.

[edit] Notes

  • This episode marks the first appearance of Orson’s alter-ego, Power Pig.
  • Bo and Lanolin do not appear in this episode.
  • The baseball game appears to be Roy against Orson, Wade, Booker and Sheldon.

[edit] Trivia

  • In one scene with the fox, Sheldon appears brown.
  • During Wade and Roy’s first out/safe argument, Roy’s lips stop moving for a split second.
  • When we initially see the henhouse, there is only one entrance: the front. But right after the fox walks out the front with Sheldon, Orson walks through the back to come back in—and then the edit changes to show Orson appear to have walked in through the front.

[edit] Quotes

Orson: “We [hens] have all gone on strike. Tired of working for chicken feed.” Oh, real funny.

Orson: Maybe you’ll look like me.
Sheldon: Are you trying to scare me?
