Sheldon High School Summer Theatre

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Begun in 1972 by Jay Shelp, Sheldon High School Summer Theatre is the only high school repertory company in the state of Iowa and one of only a few in the nation. The program is notable because it is the only such program that occurs at a non-performing arts high school. SHSST presents six full-length shows over the course of six weeks during June and July. Students are responsible for all aspects of production, ranging from marketing to set-building to acting. The program is mainly staffed by SHSST alumni.

The production schedule for the 2006 season is as follows:

June 8-10, 8 PM: Amateurs
June 15-17, 8 PM: Marvin's Room
June 22-24, 8 PM: That Bamboozler, Scapin!
June 29-30, 7 PM; July 1, 2 PM: Story Theatre
July 6-8, 8 PM: The Man Who Came to Dinner
July 13-15, 8 PM: Godspell
