Sheila McGibbon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sheila McGibbon (married name: Sheila R. Graham) was an actress from Belfast in Northern Ireland. She was born to a modestly wealthy catholic family in 1921, and died on October 4, 1997. She married John Graham, a Northern Irish activist, pro-golfer[citation needed], and member of the IRA. Together they had seven children in the Belfast area. Throughout her distinguished career, she starred in numerous plays in the Abbey Theatre, and in the Lyric Theatre, Dublin, and in Belfast. According to Irish Playography documents, she starred in 12 plays, however this number is often disputed among actors she worked with and family who claim that number is closer to 20. She also starred in numerous radio, television, and movie roles. Some of the plays and radio shows McGibbon starred in were later broadcast on television which she also starred in. Her first radio broadcast was in February 26, 1955; her last was in June 29, 1995. In 1988 McGibbon appeared in one movie, God's Frontiersmen, and was offered a role for another film but she turned down due to family matters.
