Sheffield Ski Village
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sheffield Ski Village is an artificial ski slope resort in Sheffield, England. It is the largest artificial ski resort in Europe with a large range of slopes and bars.
[edit] Future Development
An £80 million development, which has been given the go ahead by the planning department, will also add one of the world's largest indoor ski areas and a mile-long cable car link from Langsett Road Supertram stop[1]. This will continue, via the Ski Village onto Shirecliffe.[2], and area currently suffering poor transport links.
A proposal by Don Valley Railway ltd. to run a passenger rail service between Deepcar and Sheffield includes a new station at the Ski Village, possibly to link into the gondola cars.
