[edit] Biography
Sheen is depicted as an unusual and eccentric kid. He often says odd and unusual, but interesting, phrases. Unlike Jimmy or Cindy, he has no catch phrases. Sheen is best known for his overbearing tone of voice and hyperactive and hilarious maniac behavior.
According to canon, Sheen is twelve years old, making him two years older than Jimmy and Carl. The three are in the same school grade because Sheen was held back twice. Sheen's birthday is November 19. Sheen's wardrobe largely consists of blue t-shirts and jeans. The t-shirt depicts UltraLord, a popular superhero within the show. Sheen is Mexican.
Sheen is very hyperactive. In the episode entitled "Beach Party Mummy", it is mentioned that Sheen may be on some form of medication and/or medicine for ADHD/ADD. Another cause for Sheen's hyperactivity is suggested in The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 2: When Nerds Collide as the fact he may have been born with his hyperactivity and illogical nature. Although Sheen's impulsive behavior makes him seem fearless, he is afraid of one thing: the crawl space under his grandma's house. Sheen has special abilities with monkeys, and can summon the "Atomic Monkey Special Forces Squad", which is literally a quasi-military squad of monkeys led by a monkey named "Colonel McSwain" (voiced by Mike Gasaway), whenever they are needed.
Sheen is apparently of Mexican heritage, as he tells Beautiful Gorgeous, voiced by Wendie Malick in "Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion". Although he does speak Spanish on occasion, he does not have any accent when speaking English, unlike his father, whose accent is very pronounced. Unlike Carl, who seems to have no relationship with other girls in his school (although he does have a crush on Jimmy's mother), and Jimmy, who chooses to deny his feelings about classmate Cindy Vortex, Sheen makes his love for classmate Libby Folfax well known (though he occasionally gets crushes on older women such as Peggy Tsu and Beautiful Gorgeous, saying "The heart wants what the heart wants!").
Sheen also can put his foot behind his head and the monks called him the "chosen one" as seen in Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion and Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen.
Sheen appears to like guacamole very much, an instance being when he was running for class president; part of his campaign was that a guacamole bar would be installed in every classroom. Part of this may have just been his love for Libby, because he said the secret ingredient was love, and scooted closer to her.
Sheen sometimes fails to grasp the reality of situations and things. For Example: In "Win, Lose, and Kaboom," Sheen is told if his team loses, Earth will be blown up, but if they win they get a new space-car. While the others were horrified, Sheen was excited to possibly win the car. Also, in the episode "The N Men," he states that he wants to battle and destroy Tokyo when he gets his powers. In the last episode of Jimmy Timmy Power Hour, The Jerkinators, Sheen is the only one of Jimmy's friends who is oblivious to the fact of the world coming to the end, until he finds out that the Monster Truck rally will be held the day after doomsday.
However, despite his failure to grasp the reality of a situation, Sheen has occasionally helped in preventing bad things from happening. In When Nerds Collide, in order to free Jorgen Von Strangle from Professor Calamitous's control, Wanda gave Sheen fairy powers as he was as crazy as Wanda's fairy husband, Cosmo. With help from Jimmy, Timmy and the others, the two were able to make Jorgen angry enough for Jimmy to return Jorgen to normal. Jorgen then restored everything to normal, making Sheen a hyperactive young boy again, but Wanda noted that if they "ever needed a sub" they'll call.
Sheen also weighs 85 pounds by what he said in the Bahama Quadrangle episode: "I'd congratulate you if I wasn't busy being turned into an 85 pound walking salad!"
It should also be noted that Sheen's singing is so bad, it is not considered music. In Attack of the Twonkies, every Twonkie who heard music became evil. However, when Sheen sang to his, it fell asleep.
[edit] Family and Friends
Sheen doesn't have a lot of family mentioned in the series, unlike Jimmy. We do see his father on occasion (although he has only been seen in the end of the film version and in cameos of a few episodes) and Sheen mentions his grandmother (who apparently lives with him and his father) often, although she has never been seen. In the film, it is revealed that his father may be just as obsessed with Ultralord as he is. In the episode "Flippy," Sheen's father comes to Career Day and he is seen demonstrating air conditioner repair. He mentioned having a little sister in I Dream of Jimmy, but this was dismissed as a continuity error by the directors.
Director Keith Alcorn has confirmed his family that was mentioned above, even though Sheen mentioned his mother in "When Pants Attack" ("My mom has that one on layaway,"). According to canon, she died when Sheen was very young. He could have been saying that when she was alive she had it on layaway and it's still there.
Jimmy and Carl are Sheen's best friends. He has been seen hanging out with Bolbi before, and when the whole gang is at a table, Sheen suggests playing "Spin the Bottle." Sheen is also friends with Libby (whom he has feelings for) and Cindy (whom he is somewhat afraid of), albeit more distantly.
[edit] Hobbies, addictions, and activities
[edit] Ultralord
Sheen is a person who has a lot of free time on his hands. He has every single Ultralord action figure (Sheen is a member of the "Action Figure Support Group" and owns the largest Ultralord action figure collection in Retroville for that matter), as mentioned above, most of his t-shirts depict Ultralord, he has a costume (one that takes half-hour to get on), he has seen every single episode, has all the games, and mentions him in almost every episode. He, in fact, is addicted to Ultralord (who he looks up to as a role-model). Not surprisingly he also wrote the entire Ultralord website. If someone calls one of his Ultralord "action figures" a doll, he will be greatly offended. |Sheen once was sent into his favorite Ultralord video game as Ultra Sheen, so he had to battle his hero's arch nemesis, Robofiend, controlled by un-realizing Carl, with Jimmy's help. Jimmy and Sheen were doomed until Carl put his llama video game (Llamapalooza!) in the same slot as Sheen's Ultralord game. Sheen gets a growth crystal, which makes him very tall. He grabs a llama and sprays Robofiend with its milk, which Robofiend is allergic to.
[edit] Other activities, addictions, and hobbies
Sheen has had several jobs. Sheen, every now and then, does spread word about his dad's wedding business. Sheen also had a job at McSpanky's, a parody of McDonald's, once. Here he proved his education in restaurant slang.
Sheen also has an addiction to candy.
Sheen has many things that he likes. He likes ice cream, violent TV, and listens to speed metal music. During Jimmy's experiments that require zapping, Sheen is a first to volunteer out of his love for being shocked.
Another one of Sheen's major activities is flirting with Libby Folfax, especially after the episode where the kids go to Egypt.
Sheen also likes to, as he puts it "foolishly contort himself while drinking milk products" (as mentoned in "Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen".) which he links to nail biteing.
Sheen is almost always seen hanging out with Jimmy Neutron and Carl Wheezer, his best buds. He is optimistic, and only speaks negatively when he is attempting to depress Carl by scaring him, yelling at him, or talking about llamas dying horribly ("And Carl's llamas fall down, down into the sulfurous mud pits! How the snake god will be pleased!").
Sheen knows a little of a few martial arts and dances. Sheen used to know a little kung-fu and needed some help from an invention of Jimmy's (a special CD that dictates body motions) but went to a tutor. As revealed in the show once, Sheen barely knows how to dance and has to have Jimmy's special CD to dance very good. The only dance he knows is called "The Porpoise", where he wobbles and jumps around like a porpoise, while repeating the porpoise sound, "Eee!" In the episode "Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen" which is an obvious take on the movie title "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" shows Sheen has the ability to put one of his legs behind his head and it is discovered that Sheen is actually revered by a group of monks in what appears to be China.
[edit] Intelligence
In an episode of the show, the Junkman scanned Jimmy and his friends' brains. Carl had a walnut-sized brain (a running joke in the series, his brain's size was first shown in "Journey to the Center of Carl" where Sheen thought it was "a walnut on a stick"), but Sheen had a normal sized one; he's probably not actually stupid (despite what other characters, notably Cindy Vortex and Miss Fowl, believe), but just has an extreme case of ADD, to the point where he doesn't learn anything. Some fans think Sheen may have been normal until he discovered Ultralord, then it went downhill from there. He does however seem very good with computer's because he wrote the Ultralord website on his own. In fact, in one episode, Sheen remarks that he used to be "highly scientific" like Jimmy until he "sabotaged" his brain with cartoons and sugar. There is one incident, however, where Sheen becomes a super genius (as mentioned below). Ms. Fowl does not seem to like him. In the episode when Jimmy gets everybody sick, she says, in her classroom, "I miss them all ... except Sheen!!"
[edit] Powers and Abilities
Normally Sheen's only enhanced ability is his encyclopedic knowledge of all things Ultralord. However, it appears that his horribly off-key singing voice has the ability to put the aliens known as Twonkies to sleep which saved the day and the only thing that can effect a fully mutated Twonkie. In the second season episode "Sheen's Brain", he was exposed to Jimmy's "brain gain" device. At first he developed heightened intelligence superior even to Jimmy, then, as his brain continued to grow, eventually gained telepathic and psychokinetic powers however this caused him to want try to rule the world as overlord and later on think of himself as a god. Fortunately, at the end of the episode, he is convinced to give up his powers and return to normal (as normal as Sheen can be, anyway). In "The N-Men", he became Vibrating Lad, gifted with super speed and the ability to create tornadoes from said speed. In the episode "Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen", Sheen gains the ability to fly during the fight with the episode's main villain when he gains the "eye of the tiger", after Libby tells him she's his girlfriend and to win. Whether he still possesses this power is unknown.
[edit] Different countries
Jimmy Neutron airs in many different countries with many different translations, dubs, and tweaks. In Mexico (As mentioned above) in the Mexican dub of the show, Sheen speaks Spanish with problems at pronunciating the Spanish [rr] sound. And in Germany in the German dub of the show, Sheen is known as Max. In the Dutch dub he's known as Rien (Pronounced Reen).
[edit] Behind the Scenes
Sheen is a fan favorite, like Hugh Neutron, and even has several fan-run websites and fan listings.
The name "Sheen Estevez" appears to be a reference to the Estevez family of actors; specifically the two members, Ramón and Carlos, who changed their names (to Martin and Charlie Sheen, respectively). His name is a combination of the family's stage name Sheen and the family's real last name of Estevez
