[edit] Career

Shaunessy began his wrestling career in The Monster Factory in April 2002 where he trained under the supervision of former WWF wrestler Larry Sharpe (who also trained Bam Bam Bigelow and King Kong Bundy), and Jim Molyneaux. He made his wrestling debut 6 days later against Robert Pigenion. However, a serious neck injury sidetracked his career for two years.

In May 2004 Shaunessy returned to wrestling at the newly opened Irish Whip Wrestling school in Dublin and debuted for Irish Whip Wrestling in their Mount Temple show on July 9, against the 700lbs+ Mark Burns, a match which he easily won. After this he went on to wrestle and defeat several international wrestlers including Vid Vain, Matt Striker, Xavier and Mikey Batts.

Shaunessy received his first major title shot against the FWA British Heavyweight Champion Alex Shane on December 2, 2004. He was moments away from capturing the title, only to have his ally Red Vinny turned heel and cost him the match.

In March 2005, he defeated his former friend Red Vinny, Vid Vain and The "Pukka One" Darren Burridge to become the first ever IWW International champion. This led to a feud with Burridge, which involved him interfering in Shaunessy's championship match against D'Lo Brown by hitting him in the head with a baton, thus giving Brown the victory and IwW International Championship.

Shaunessy and Burridge squared off in a grudge match which saw SOS successfully exacting his revenge and winning the match. He then set his sights on winning his title back and defeated both Red Vinny and Vic Viper to win the no.1 contendership match against D'Lo Brown and The Assassin at a MEW show in Newcastle in October 2005.

SOS pinned D'Lo to become a two time IWW champion and bring the title back to Ireland.

SOS holds 2 victories over former WCW star, Vampiro, one of which occured on St. Patricks Day 2006.

On October 21, 2006, SOS shocked the Irish wrestling circuit when he appeared as a heel at up-and-coming Irish wrestling promotion, NLW - No LImit Wrestling's Halloween Slam. He had left IwW stating he was travelling England, Scotland etc & did not want to be exclusive to any Irish promotion. He also stated on his website, www.sosofficial.com, that he would be wrestling in England on these dates. This was obviously a swerve to both fans & IwW management.

SOS appeared at the televised WWE RAW show in the M.E.N. Arena, Manchester, England, as a member of WWE Security. His role was to eject D-Generation X from ringside. After escorting them from ring side DX later attacked Rated-RKOafter their match and SOS and the rest of the security team came down to the ring and where attacked by DX, SOS was the last security guard standing and recieved a pedigree from Triple H.
