She Creature

She Creature is a 2001 B-movie about carnival performers in Ireland, circa 1900, who abduct a mermaid and try to smuggle her to America. As their ship appears to lose its way, the mermaid begins to show a deadly side. The film stars Rufus Sewell, Carla Gugino, with Rya Kihlstedt as the mermaid. The film was written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez.
She Creature is the first in a series paying tribute to the films produced by legendary B-movie magnate Samuel Arkoff and his American International Pictures. [1]
She Creature was originally billed as the first part of a series called The Mermaid Chronicles. However, no subsequent films have been produced. As it stands, the film is now somewhat of a cult classic.
