The image seems to be the official photo in use during Sheikh Hasina's term as Prime minister of Bangladesh. Isn't that "fair use"? --Ragib 29 June 2005 07:34 (UTC)

• I'm not sure but there is also this image at Banglapedia which appears to have no copyright and therfore is likely in PD. [1]
• In fact I think it is because the image on google is just a colored version of the other. So it probably can be used under Fair use or possibly it might be a PD image like the annon suggested.(in image history). Falphin 29 June 2005 16:02 (UTC)

I had contacted Bangladesh Awami League regarding the issue of the use of the image, and they have granted permission for use of the image. I have asked for a written permission/official email. In any case, the image can be used without any problems. The image in question was already in public domain, since this is the official Bangladesh Government Portrait issued during the rule of Sheikh Hasina between 1996-2001. I'm removing the PUI tag.
