Shanqing Cai (Chinese: 蔡善清)was born in Shanghai, China on July 17, 1983. He got his Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing in July 2006. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree at Department of Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University. His current research is in the field of auditory neurophysiology and neuropathophysiology. At the Lab of Neural Encoding, he is currently studying the relationship between the neurophysiological effects by sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) in the ventral cochlear nucleus of the cat and the loudness recruitment phenomenon. Shanqing Cai is currently a tuba player on the Johns Hopkins University Wind Ensemble.
