This event was surprisingly close to me. According to the Six degrees of separation, we are all connected to anyone else by no more than five intermediaries. On that basis, I have one degree of separation (one intermediary) to one of those killed on helicopter Shark_02, and by definition am at most two degrees from the others. Using another route, I am three degrees from another victim. Using yet another route, I am one degree from someone who was to have travelled on that flight but at the last moment did not.
