Shawn Vulliez

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shawn Vulliez (also known by his online nickname AltF4, and more recently saddle up and ride) is an Adobe Flash animator. He animated music videos of Lemon Demon, and started with eBaum's World Dot Com, which criticised the website eBaum's World regarding allegations of plagiarism and copyright infringement; it also accused eBaum's World of conducting a distributed denial-of-service attack against the website Something Awful, the forums of which Shawn is an active participant in. His most popular work to date is The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, involving a fight between pop culture icons and other characters. A more recent work is Snakes on a Plane, a brief tribute to the movie of the same name. All were based on music by Lemon Demon; the songs in eBaum's World Dot Com and the Ultimate Showdown were written specifically for the videos. The animated film Snakes on a Plane reportedly took a total of 3 to 4 hours to make.

He was animating Action Movie Hero Boy a song on Lemon Demon's 2006 album Dinosaurchestra, but he has expressed doubt that he will finish it.

In April 2006, he announced Project Deathsphere (now known as Summer Camp), his latest animation project; he states that it is intended to be feature-length. A preview was submitted to eefoof and Newgrounds in August that year. The first of ten episodes was scheduled to be released in early November, but has since been put on hold until further notice.

Shawn also at one point had released a two-part short film named A Boy and His Lawnmower. It detailed the relationship between a young boy and his dad's lawnmower, who, after a short time, goes insane and mows the boy's leg off. As a result, the boy gets a new, female lawnmower, and plays with her instead of the old lawnmower. At the end of the cartoon, the old lawnmower puts a gun to his mouth, and, while the screen is black, shoots himself. The two parts were once submitted to Newgrounds, but Shawn has since taken them off.

There have since been a multitude of Shawn Vuliez imposters, most notably the AltF4 on the friendcodes.com forums. The AltF4 there is NOT Shawn Vulliez. Though he has put Shawn Vuliez' website in his profile and claimed that he has made the ultimate showdown multiple times, he is not the real AltF4. He recently came out with an apology on the same day that the real AltF4 called him out on the somethingawful.com forums. Since it was on the same day, many people speculate that it was simply proactive damage control.
