Shawn Ryan is the creator of the television series The Shield and The Unit. Ryan was a producer for Angel and The Shield, and he is also the show runner for The Shield. He is a graduate of Middlebury College.

His future projects include writing the script for the film adaptation of the video game Max Payne.
