Shawbury

Shawbury is a large village and civil parish in North Shropshire, England and home to RAF Shawbury, a helicopter base for the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom. The village lies on the A53 and is 5 miles North East of Shrewsbury, county town of Shropshire.
The River Roden flows through the village. The village of Moreton Corbet, with its castle, is just to the north.

The main weather station for Shropshire is located in the village.
Many famous people have originated from Shawbury. The most recent being James "The Bagman" Benbow, born 30/11/83 who quickly rose to stardom through such acts as smoking his mobile phone and beating midgets. His escapades have been thoroughly covered by national newspaper "The Sun" and Liverpool's "Echo". Fans of "The Bagman" can see him regularly getting his bag out at Avondale Crack House (Liverpool).
