Shaun Newton (born August 20, 1975 in Camberwell, London) is an English footballer whose favoured position is as an attacking right-sided midfielder. He currently plays for Premiership outfit West Ham United.

Newton started his career at Charlton Athletic, making his debut as a 17 year old,[1] and also had a long spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Newton moved from Wolverhampton to West Ham in March 2005 for an initial fee of just £10,000, and because of this he is known as '10k' by some of the Upton Park faithful. The fee rose to £125,000 after the Hammers clinched promotion to the Premiership.[2]

On July 19, 2006, Newton was banned for seven months, backdated from May 20 of the same year, after testing positive for cocaine after West Ham's FA Cup semi-final victory over Middlesbrough on April 23
