Shatsk, Ukraine

Shatsk (Ukrainian: Шацьк, translit.: Shats`k) is a small town in Ukraine, in the region of Volhynia, to the north-west of Kovel. It has approximately 6,000 inhabitants.
The town was first mentioned in 1410. During the Polish Defensive War it was the battlefield of the Battle of Szack between Polish forces of general Wilhelm Orlik-Rueckemann and the Soviet 4th Army.
