[edit] History
Sharpstown Middle School was originally built in 1967 as a high school. It was named Sharpstown Junior/Senior High School housing grades 6 - 12. It remained as a high school until the school became overpopulated because students all over the Sharpstown area attended the school. Sometime ,15 years later, HISD and other personnel decided to build a high school in another area and make the current school as a middle school.
As HISD agreed, Sharpstown High School was built at the southern part of Sharpstown. The movement relieved the attendance at Sharpstown Middle School. As years passed, the school grew old, but in 2002, HISD Rebuild renovated the school. Today people living in the area of Sharpstown Middle School go to the school's track/football/soccer fields to exercise.
