Shannon Nelles

Shannon Nelles, (born 1980, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada), is the federal New Democratic Party candidate for the electoral district of Wild Rose in the 2006 General Federal Election. Nelles has lived in Airdrie, Alberta, for more than a decade. She is committed to this region, having started her family here with her husband, Daniel Nelles (born 1981, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada), and their son, Maddox (born 2004, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada).
She graduated with honours from Lethbridge Community College with a diploma in Marketing and certificate in Business Administration in 2001. President of the provincial Airdrie-Chestermere NDP riding association, Shannon is truly dedicated to the principles of the NDP. Shannon associates with the NDP youth, as well as being an advocate for women’s issues. She is passionate in wanting to ensure Canadians have access to affordable housing so other young families can make an early start and stay in this region. An ardent environmentalist, Shannon seeks a greener future for today and tomorrow's young people.
In her spare time, Shannon enjoys hiking and nature walks with her family, as well as frequenting local small businesses and the public library.
