[edit] NBA Draft

On June 28, 2006, Brown was drafted in the first round with the 25th overall pick of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He joins LeBron James, hoping to contribute to a Cleveland Cavalier backcourt that was worst in the league in scoring. Many say he is the steal of the draft because of his explosiveness and high potential. The selection of Shannon Brown by Cleveland may have instantly helped the team, as he has the potential to become an immediate starter. Many of the experts complimented Brown's play and said that his weakness was simply decision-making, which will likely improve in the NBA with players such as James and Larry Hughes next to him.
