Shane O'Brien (born August 9, 1983) is a Canadian defenceman for Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League.

- June 22, 2003 - Drafted by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 8th round, 250th overall. Previously played for the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates and former affiliate, Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, and the Ontario Hockey Leauge for the Kingston Frontenacs and St. Mike's Majors prior to coming to Anaheim.
- Made his NHL debut against the Los Angeles Kings on October 6, 2006.
- Scored his first NHL goal against the Detroit Red Wings on October 18, 2006. He completed the night with a Gordie Howe Hat Trick by getting an assist and a fight against Brad Norton. It was his first career multi-point NHL game.
- Scored a goal and two assists against the Vancouver Canucks on November, 9, 2006. It was his first multiple-assist NHL game.
- Both of his goals in the 10/18 Detroit game and the 11/9 Vancouver game were considered game-winning-goals.
- O'Brien was recently considered for the November 2006 NHL Rookie of the Month award, but lost out to Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
- NHLPA named him player of the day on 11/10/2006.
