Shane & Shane is a Texas-based, Christian duo/band known for bringing their acoustic style to praise and worship music. The band consists of Shane Barnard and Shane Everett. Taylor Johnson plays lead electric guitar, as well as backup acoustic for Shane & Shane. Hunter Hall manages Shane & Shane.
Shane Barnard accepted the Lord when he was in 9th grade after sneaking out of his Catholic family background to attend a bible church youth group. Soon after picking up the guitar he became a worship leader finding basements and living rooms as his sanctuary for years. After God's calling his junior year at Texas A&M University he found himself into a recording career.
Shane Everett was born in Dallas, TX and later moved to Garland, a suburb or Texas. Everett eventually went to Texas A&M. After playing in a bar band, 4D2, one night Shane broke down and had an encounter with God that lead him to Central Baptist Church where he was saved. Shortly after he met Shane Barnard and 6 years later they continue to be making music.
Both Barnard and Everett were a part of a weekly student-led praise and worship service at Texas A&M University.
The band originally began with Shane Barnard performing in solo acts, but Shane Everett consistently had a major role in their performances. Then, with the release of their 2003 album titled Carry Away, the band became officially known as "Shane & Shane".
Taylor Johnson started as a guitarist for Todd Agnew. After Todd Agnew moved to Memphis, Taylor stayed behind and played the guitar for the Robbie Seay Band. When Robbie Seay Band went on tour with Shane & Shane, he played guitar for both the Robbie Seay Band and Shane and Shane on David Crowder Band's "A Collision Tour".
The duo is most popular with younger people, having a solid fan base on college campuses.
