Shanbally Castle

Shanbally Castle was acquired by the Irish Land Commission in 1954 was located near Clogheen, County Tipperary. In 1960 the castle, after much controversy, was demolished. The Irish Government claimed that it could not find a suitable owner to for the castle and that it was unoccupied.
