Shakaya are a two-piece girl group from Australia, consisting of 27 year old Simone Stacey and 22 year old Naomi Wenitong, two Cairns, North Queensland based songwriters and performers who entered the Australian music charts in 2002 with their ARIA top 5 debut album, 'Shakaya'. Featuring one Top 10 single "Stop Calling Me" and two Top 20 hits "Sublime" and Cinderella. Shakaya established the duo as Australia's premier female urban pop act and saw them tour with Destiny's Child, Usher, Kylie Minogue and Ja Rule. The girls were initially discovered in Cairns by Reno Nicastro, and Michael Pearson-Adams, otherwise known to the music industry and radio world as Gomez. On Monday 25th of September, '06. Shakaya visited Sugarworld Waterslides cairns and enjoyed a great day out with their cousins.
