Shahpura is a city and a municipality in Bhilwara district in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Shahpura is located at 25.63° N 74.93° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 364 metres (1194 feet).

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Shahpura had a population of 27,698. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Shahpura has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 72%, and female literacy is 50%. In Shahpura, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The rulers of the erstwhile chiefship of Shahpura belonged to the Sisodia clan of Rajputts . Shahpura has given many freedom fighters. Barahat Family of Shahpura has given three main freedom fighter.One of them is Pratap Singh Baharat .Apart from them many other freedom fighters belong to Shahpura, like Laxmi Dutt Kantia.

As it was not having rokcy land and due to water shortage, it couldn't be an attraction for industrialist.Industries moved away from it to Bhilwara...as it was having rocky land structure and rivers around...later on Bhilwara develped and became a district of Rajasthan State. But Shahpura is still having its cultural and heritage identity.

The town houses the headuarters of the sub division, tehsil, panchayat samiti of the same name. It is about 58 Kms. from district headquarters.

An annual fair, which is called 'PHOOLDOL Fair' is held here on PHALGUN SHUKLA '15 ( march-April) for five days. The town is also famous for PHAD Painitings.

Shahpura is a place of pilgrimage for the followers of the Ram Snehi sect .Founded in [1804]] they have a shrine in the town called as "Ramwara" .The chief priest thereof is the head of the sect. Pilgrims from all over the world visit the shrine through out the year.Shahpura is well known for Ram Snehi's Ramdwara.
