Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, a not-for-profit acute care hospital located in Rockville, MD, opened its doors in 1979. Today, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital serves as a primary health care resource for more than 250,000 local residents.
Medical Services
Over 10 years ago, the hospital opened Montgomery County Maryland’s first full-service pediatric emergency room. The hospital also offers a comprehensive line of women’s and children’s services as well as additional services that include: Bariatrics, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Wound Care, Surgical, and Emergency Services.
A Planetree Hospital
Recently, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital became the first hospital in the state of Maryland to commit to the Planetree philosophy of patient-centered care. Planetree hospitals are dedicated to the healing of mind-body-spirit; are patient-centered, value-based, holistic; and support the safety of patients through active involvement in their own care.
2005 Codman Award Recipient
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) named Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, a 2005 winner of the ninth annual Ernest Amory Codman Award, which recognizes excellence in the use of outcomes measurement by health care organizations to achieve improvements in the quality and safety of health care.
