Shadows Collide With People (2004) is an album by John Frusciante, conceived during the recording of "By the Way". It was his fourth solo album and is widely regarded as his most accessible and best work, featuring an eclectic mix of guitar-driven alternative rock, folk ballads, and electronica.
Omar of the Mars Volta, bandmates Flea and Chad Smith of the Chili Peppers, and Frusciante's friend Josh Klinghoffer all join John on this album. One noteworthy contribution is Flea playing the upright bass on "The Slaughter", the closing track of the album. All tracks were written by John Frusciante and the majority of the vocal work is performed by him. Another notable feature of this album is John's newfound ability to sing in a more professional-sounding and stronger voice than ever before.
Frusciante also made acoustic and demo versions of these tracks available to fans through his official site, as an alternative to the highly produced sound of the record.
Also, was made a promo version of the disc, with the tracks Omission and Song To Sing When I'm Lonely. more info
