Shadow Ring
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shadow Ring was a group of British musicians active from 1994 to 2004, centered around Graham Lambkin, Darren Harris and Tim Goss. Their music began as a threadbare arrangement of simple melodies via acoustic guitars overlaid with eerie spoken vocals. The group eventually incorporated electronics into the effort and did away with guitars entirely, instead playing up the poetry and theatricality of their vision in place of wringing any technical showmanship from their instruments.
Shadow Ring records were released by Dry Leaf Discs, Siltbreeze, Corpus Hermeticum, and Swill Radio.
Their music betrayed few influences and made a substantial impact on a small but dedicated group of musicians currently working.
