Sgt. Aubrey Cosens VC Memorial Bridge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sgt. Aubrey Cosens VC Memorial Bridge is named after Sgt. Aubrey Cosens VC and is located in Latchford, Ontario where Highway 11 crosses the Montreal River. On January 14, 2003 there was a partial failure of the bridge on this major highway, resulting in the closure of the highway and several recommendations to avoid future bridge failures. The failure was caused by rusting of bearings holding the decks of the bridge.
