The Seymour Narrows are a channel between Vancouver Island and Quadra Island on the Inside Passage.
The narrows are known for its shipwrecks, and its offending reef of Ripple Rock which was ingeniously reduced the largest non-nuclear civilian (i.e., non-military) explosion in 1956.
Seymour Narrows was described by Captain George Vancouver as "one of the vilest stretches of water in the world."[1]
