Sexy Silvia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sexy Silvia is the title character's girlfriend in Capcom's popular sleeper-hit, Viewtiful Joe. She doesn't appear to have a last name as of now, though some fans speculate it to be Blue, as her father's name is Capt. Blue, or, when not in costume, is referred to as Blue. However, it could also be his first name. She is voiced by Christina Puccelli in the games, and by Philece Sampler (credited as "Jessie Green") in the English anime.

[edit] Viewtiful Joe
In the first game, she and Joe were on a date at Joe's father's movie theater (revealed in the second game), specifically to see a rather old Henshin flick about Joe's hero, Capt. Blue. According to her, this had been the first date they had been on in at least a few weeks, and she was rather disappointed. After an attempt to get some romance going on towards the end of the movie, she winds up making Joe, according to him, miss the really, really good part, when Capt. Blue is defeated. Silvia then says she vaguely recognizes Blue, only to be grabbed by the villain, a leader of the evil organisation called Jadow, into the movie.
Later, at the fight with Fire Leo, Silvia is in a cage in the center, complaining that Joe was so busy showing off he almost completely forgot about her. After the fight, however, The Villain takes her away to the final level. At the last boss, the villain is revealed to be none other than Capt. Blue himself, and also Silvia's father. Silvia says this is impossible, because her mother, Ivory, always told her that he was dead. A fight for Silvia takes place between Joe and him, as Capt. Blue needs her to take over the real world, but after the fight Capt. Blue tells the tale of his rising to fame and falling into depression and being sucked into the movie, only to be corrupted with his super hero powers.
Silvia hugs him and an audience is heard clapping only to be interrupted by an alarm, saying an alien invasion is approaching. Just as Joe's about to leave, Silvia ask her father for a V-watch, which would give her powers like Joe, which he does, and she and Joe jump up into the credits.
Silvia has her own story in the game as well. It is nearly identical to Joe's, but she has to save her twin sister, Goldie, instead, and some of the dialogue is different. It turns out this time that her father was going to try to sacrifice Goldie so that he and Silvia would become more powerful. The ending is the same, also, with both sisters getting V-watches, and both girls' costumes are identical, but Goldie has a different visor than Silvia.
[edit] Viewtiful Joe 2
This game takes place immediately after the ending of Viewtiful Joe, with Silvia and Joe going down to Earth to protct it from the evil Gedow, only for both of them to be transported to a jungle and for Cpt. Blue to be turned into a rainbow oscar, an object of great power in movieworld. She and Joe set out again to stop Gedow, find the rainbow oscars, and save her father. This time, however, she is a main character (in fact, the original title of the game was Viewtiful Joe 2: Silvia's Revenge). She has quite the mouth and attitude in this game, which is what causes most of the boss fights.
Also in this game, we are introduced to Joe's father, Jet Black, who Silvia calls "Uncle Jet". He and Blue used to be partners, Jet owned and operated the theater while Blue made movies. Unfortunately, Jet turns out to be the leader of Gedow and uses the rainbow oscars to become the ultimate hero. She and Joe defeat him anyway.
In the boss battles, her outfit changes from a dress to a more bikini like outfit.
[edit] Red Hot Rumble
In Red Hot Rumble, she is one of the actors fighter for the role of Blue's successor and a Fast-Projectile fighter. She was also the players' main rival in the Truth About the Black Film story.
Her special attacks were Triple Shoot (shoots 3 shots at once) and Sexy Collider (a ray with infinite range).
[edit] Double Trouble
In this game, Silvia and Joe have lost their ability to transform in the real world, despite the fact they could at the end of Viewtiful Joe 2 thanks to the enthusiasm of the movie award audience. As a result, Silvia has to operate the V-cam, which allows Joe to be transformed as long as he is being filmed by it. Also, it is revealed that Joe tends to cheat on Silvia every now and then.
[edit] Description
Silvia is blonde with hazel eyes, and wears glasses. In the first game, she wears an aqua blue jacket/skirt with six white buttons and a silver belt with dark stockings and black high-heeled shoes. Her Henshin costume is the same color as her dress, with a helmet with a purple visor and instead of a cape, she has a long, blonde ponytail. She wears the same stockings with knee-high white boots and white elbow long gloves (the gloves are not present in the first game), with a sleavless bodysuit with a rather short skirt and belt. In the second game, she wears a pink skirt with a black belt, and a white scarf, fingerless gloves, and knee-high boots for her normal outfit, but her super hero costume is the same. This her look in all subsequent games
Her personality is slightly inconsistent. At first, she is flirty and slightly whiney, however, in VJ2, she is the stereotypical "Anime Girlfriend", being a bit overbearing and violent (in fact, the instruction booklet says she threatened her father in to giving her the V-watch, which she actually almost begged, rather politely, too). In Red Hot Rumble she had her first personality, but in DT she had her second one.
[edit] Gameplay
In VJ1 she was exactly the same as Joe except for her speed, defense, and strength. In VJ2, however she was completely different. Instead of punching, she used a pair of guns, together call "Desperado," that shot out pink hearts, and her kick combo was very long. She also had the replay ability, which allowed her to give or receive three times the damage, instead of mach speed (her normal walking speed was made faster than Joe's to balance this) and used electricity instead of fire. Also, instead of the Red Hot One Hundred, she used a slow, but powerful, hip charge (named by some sources as the "Sexy Lightning Hip Slam", or "SLHS"). Silvia also had access to an attack called "Double Trigger" (accessed once Desperado Lv.1 was purchased) which locked onto enemies.
In Red Hot Rumble, she used her guns for most of her special attacks, and she wasn't playable in Double Trouble.
[edit] Trivia
- Silvia was Christina Puccelli's first voice acting role.
- She is never referred to as her super hero name except in the games manuals, the Japanese version of the anime, and during her extra story in VJ1 and in Red Hot Rumble.
- Due to its younger audiences, the English version of the Viewtiful Joe anime renamed Silvia's hero persona to "Go-Go Silvia" to prevent any controversy.
