Seven Star Crags

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Seven Star Crags are located in the north of Zhaoqing beside the Star Lake and form one of the most scenic places in Guangdong Province, in southern China.

The limestone crags are naturally arranged in the same formation as the 7 stars of the Big Dipper constellation. Legend has it that the pillars of limestone grew from stars that fell from the skies. There are lots of caves in this 8 kmĀ² area and some contain underground rivers that are large enough to navigate by boat. The Star Lake has been designated a national park.
