Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby is a television series made in New Zealand. It is a biting satire about politically correct New Zealand and the education system. It's written and devised by three of New Zealand's top comedy writers - Danny Mulheron (who also directs and co-produces), Dave Armstrong and Tom Scott (cartoonist). The show stars David McPhail as the un-repentant old school teacher Mr Mortimer Ellis Gormsby, whose unorthodox methods create hell in Tepapawai High School.
The show's first season has screened in New Zealand on TV One and in Australia on ABC in 2005. A second season finished shooting in 2005 and finished screening on New Zealand television on the 7th of May 2006.
