Seven Bridges Road

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seven Bridges Road is the title of a song written by Steve Young that he recorded in 1969 on his Rock Salt & Nails album. It was recorded by Ian Matthews on his Valley Hi album in 1973 (produced by and featuring former Monkee Michael Nesmith on guitar, and possibly backing vocals, although the liner notes do not indicate this) and live by the Eagles on their Eagles Live album in 1980. However, the Eagles never recorded or released a studio cut of the tune.

Joan Baez covered the song in 1970.

Created in 1899, Seven Bridges Road [1] connects with the Skyline Parkway and boasts local historic significance in the city of Duluth, Minnesota.

In Hank Williams Jr.'s autobiography, Living Proof, he mentions in the first chapter that the "seven bridges road" refers to the road in Montgomery, Alabama that leads to the Oakwood Annex Cemetery where his father's grave is. To get there one must cross over seven bridges.
