Setun River

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Setun River (Russian: Сетунь) is a river in the west of Moscow and the biggest tributary of the Moskva River in Moscow. The length of the river is 38 km (24 miles); of which, 20 km (12 mi) is in Moscow itself. The area of its basin is 190 sq km (73 sq mi). The Setun River originates in a village of Salariyevo in the Moscow Oblast and flows into the Moskva River near the Novodevichy Convent. The river teems with roach, European perch, crucian carp, pike, and other fish. The Setun River, however, is of no value to the fishing industry due to the fact that it is heavily polluted with toxic waste.
