ServiceMagic is a web site that enables homeowners throughout the United States and Canada to get matched with prescreened and customer-rated home improvement contractors. ServiceMagic addresses more than 500 different home service needs that range from simple home repairs and maintenance to complete home remodeling projects.[1]
All 43,000+ ServiceMagic member contractors (as of August 2006) [2] are prescreened to ensure consumers are connected with licensed and insured service professionals. [3] There is no charge to homeowners using the service, and member contractors are charged lead fees to receive leads that match their geographic profile and job type preferences. The lead fees range from $6 - $50, depending on the job. ServiceMagic users also have access to ServiceMagic’s online Homeowners Resource Center that includes tips, tools, guides, galleries and expert advice on home-related topics.
