When a writer, Camilla 'Cam' Lawson, comes to the D.G, the kids decide to impress her, especially Tracy who thinks she is perfect foster mother material. As she attempts to befriend her, she develops a rivalry with Louise's new friend, Justine and a friendship with little Peter Ingham. After a tearful farewell from both Peter and Mike, Tracy is fostered by Cam herself.
