Sergey Borisovich Stechkin

Sergey Borisovich Stechkin (Russian: Сергей Борисович Стечкин, born in 1924, died in 1995) was a prominent Russian mathematician who worked in theory of functions and numbers theory. He was a professor of mathematics in Moscow State Univercity.

Founder and first director of the Institute of mathematics and mechanics of the Ural branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Founder and chef editor of mathematical journal 'Mathematical Notes' (Russian: Математические заметки).

Stechkin was born on 6 september 1920 in Moscow. His father (B.S. Stechkin) was an Soviet turbojet engines constructor, academician.
