Sergei Nikolaevich Abeltsev (Russian: Сергей Николаевич Абельцев; born May 16, 1961) is a member of the State Duma of Russia. He has been a member of the State Duma's Committee on National Security since December 2003 and a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). Prior to his election to the State Duma, Abeltsev was a member of the LDPR Supreme Council. He has degrees in management, law, and military science. [1]

He said about tragic death of Aleksander Litvinenko: "The deserved punishment reached the traitor. I am sure his terrible death will be a warning to all the traitors that in Russia treason is not to be forgiven. I would recommend to citizen Berezovsky to avoid any food at the commemorative feast for Litvinenko." (November 24, 2006)
