Serge Lutens

Serge Lutens (born 14 March 1942) is a French photographer, make-up artist, interior and set designer, creator of perfumes and a fashion designer.

Lutens started to work with makeup for fashion magazine Vogue in 1963. Five years later, at the age of 27, he moved to Dior, to create the company's image and their makeup lines. After working for Dior, Lutens signed on as "international image creator" for the house of Shiseido and kept this position until 1999. During his run at Shiseido, he also launched his own "Serge Lutens" line of perfumes under the exclusive Le Palais Royale de Shiseido (1992-present).
He has worked as a photographer for ELLE and Vanity Fair, but is now best known for his perfumery.
