Parliamentary elections will be held in Serbia on 21 January 2007.[1] The decision on the future status of Kosovo will not be made until after the election, allegedly to reduce the risk of the Serbian Radical Party gaining an absolute majority.[2]

There are currently 10 political options for the elections, with more expected. Parties registering as ethnic minority parties (SVM and SDA, so far) will not need to surpass the 5% threshold to gain seats in the parliament. For the first time in a decade, Albanian parties from the Presevo Valley are expected to participate in the elections:
1. Democratic Party - Boris Tadić
2. G17 Plus - Mlađan Dinkić
3. Liberal Democratic Party-Civic Alliance of Serbia-Social Democratic Union-League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina - Čedomir Jovanović
4. Serbian Radical Party - dr Vojislav Šešelj
5. Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia - dr Vojislav Koštunica
6. Serbian Strength Movement - Bogoljub Karić
7. Serbian Renewal Movement - Vuk Drašković
8. Alliance of Vojvodina Magyars - Jožef Kasa
9. Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) - Dr Jovan Krkobabić and Social Democratic Party (SDP) - Dr Nebojša Čović
10. Coalition List for Sanjak dr Sulejman Ugljanin
11. Socialist Party of Serbia
12. Branko Pavlović - "Because it's gotta be better"

The Serbian Renewal Movement became a candidate under the option 7 on 4 December 2006 in 11:30 AM after accumulating 17,024 electoral signers.

On 18th November 2006 partial vice-president Srećković reported to the Novi Sad "Dnevnik" the status of SPO in its electoral campaigning: [..]We started campaigning the first [a month ago] and thus have an advantage over the other parties[..]our management is younger and more energetic[..]we will pass every city and as many villages in Serbia as we can to rally support. SPO has mustered a 1,000 chiefs of mini-HQs that will meet on the next gathering of GO SPO, for better coordination of the party's widespread campaign. The Vice-president claimed that SPO is the strongest pro-European party in Serbia. He said that SPO will not lead a demagogic and pointless parole-propaganda in its electoral campaign, but use precise projects, "because the citizens of Serbia are tired of Serbia are tired of affairs, manipulations and politicians who seek nothing but personal benefit". He also announced that SPO is for a political census in the democratic bloc for the benefit of constructing a modern Serbia after the elections. Srećković announced the grand Sunday "Europe live" action in which 30 Serbian peasants will be dispatched to Slovenia, to learn from the experienced Slovene agriculture to benefit the Serbia's village on its path to the European Union; he said that Slovenia is way ahead of Serbia in economic sense. The next step in the campaign is the sending of several Kragujevac's Zastava manufacturers to the Czech "Skoda" to learn from its business partnership with the German "Volkswagen". And finally, 10 top Serbian students will be led by SPO to Brussels, the seat of EU. Vice-president Srđan Srećković closed by stating that the aims of SPO are European principals & standards, as well as EU membership.

On November 19 2006 the "Europe live" campaign; 30 peasants visiting Slovenia, started. A conference for journalists was held by the party's vice-presidents Vlajko Senić and Srđan Srećković, SPO director President of the Executive Committee Aleksandar Čotrić and President of the party's president of the Committee for Agriculture Željko Radošević.

The list includes a total of 250 candidates, and includes members of the Serbian List for the Return of Property, People's Peasant Party (of Marijan Rističević), Liberals of Serbia (represented by Radivoje Lazarević and Žarko Jokanović) and the Movement "I live for Krajina". The list's bearer is partial president Vuk Drašković, the transitional Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia; followed by the partial vice-presidents Vlajko Senić, Srđan Srećković, Sanja Čeković, Žika Gojković and Mirko Čikiriz.
