Serbian Democratic Renewal Movement
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Serbian Democratic Renewal Movement (Srpski Demokratski Pokret Obnove, SDPO) is a national conservative political party in Serbia. It was founded on 14 May 2005 in Ravna Gora after split in the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) over disagreements with the leadership of Vuk Drašković and his influential wife Danica Drašković. Out of the 13 SPO members of parliament, 9 left for the SDPO, with four still remaining loyal to Drašković and the SPO. The SDPO keeps very close relations with the dominant government Democratic Party of Serbia and there are hints that the SDPO will either merge into the DSS or at least join its electoral list come next elections.
