Serb Montenegro

Serb Montenegro (Serbian Cyrillic: Српска Црна Гора) is a name given to the state the Serbian Radical Party has called to be created within Montenegro in areas with Serbian majority. The state would likely be made of regions (refer to map) where Serbs are a majority or a relative majority and would have a significant amount of autonomy (since Serbs make some 32% of the population of Montenegro). This is one of several autonomous areas being called for in the newly independent state, with the other calls being made by the Albanian and Bosniak minorities.
At a conference on June 1st Tomislav Nikolić, provisional leader of the Serbian Radical Party (which advocates this state), stated that since Serbs in addition to Serb Montenegro should demand other rights including:
- - The right to self-determination
- - For the status of a national minority if they can not achieve the right to be considered a nation
- - The right to special ties with their motherland
Serbs supportive of this proposed area have varying views of the how the area should look like. Some call for it to include all areas with a Serbian majority or with a relative Serb majority, others call for it to include areas that voted to remain in the union with Serbia and others call for it to be composed of two separate areas (eastern Montenegro and Herceg Novi).
