SERI, or Samsung Economic Research Institute, is one of the prominent private-sector think tanks in Korea, covering diverse areas that range from the nation's high-tech front to research on issues and trends shaping East Asian economic and business environment.

As part of the drive to globalize its research scope and activity, the institute launched in November 2004 SERIWorld, a free English website providing research briefs and video presentations by 200-plus in-house researchers.
