[edit] Lawyer
"In addition, all but a handful of jurisdictions require that the applicant have earned a law degree from an A.B.A.-accredited law school."
- I'm looking for those jurisdictions - would appreciate any help. ¦ Reisio 22:38, 2005 August 4 (UTC)
- California and Georgia, I believe, are the two. -Sensor 03:12, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you!
Thank ya so much for the kind words on Erie Triangle. I personally think the map is hella dorky, but it was the best I could do with my limited tools. :) Not a local, just a big fan of obscure bits of local history. Spend a lot of time fussing with historic regions of the United States. Not sure when I first heard about it, but agree that it's a neat bit of geographic history. Anyway, thanks again. Really appreciate it. jengod 01:10, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
- OK, good to see I'm not the only one with encyclopedic knowledge of obscure geographia. See, I'm an Erie native, and we sometimes think no one knows about us outside of Pittsburghers, who come to Lake Erie in droves every summer. - Sensor 01:35, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hi!
Hello Mike, nice to find in-laws in Wikipedia ;) I think, I made you brother addicted to it :-P -- Krisztina
- Wow, I never expected to find family here. Cool! - Sensor 02:48, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I'm mostly active in the Hungarian Wiki (even been elected to sysop) and make hardly anything else in English Wikipedia than interwiki links for newly created articles - the bots do the rest :) We have a lot to do over there, you know... But it might change later on, it is only a question of time :) --Serinde 17:23, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

- Urgh, do you spend time translating English articles into the Hungarian Wiki too? That's a lot of work! (If I had to rate my Hungarian skill for Wikipedia:Babel, I'd probably be HU-0.03. :) BTW, you do know that I own and play this, right? You need a photo of the Hungarian version on the Hungarian Wiki - the photo there is the French version! :) - Sensor 02:41, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

- I know, Chad told me. I checked the article's history, because I found it very detailed and wondered, how many people was interested - and that's how I found your username :)) - Serinde 12:35, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- And yes, I actually translated some articels from English to Hungarian - not more work than writing it on your own, believe me :) but I did not translate from hu: to en: yet, it seems to be harder - for me. --Serinde 12:40, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Greetings from Miskolc
Hi! It's nice that Serinde can get her family addicted to Wikipedia :-) Come and visit the Hungarian wikipedia too, you can even learn some of the language there :-) Alensha 12:56, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, I was addicted before I knew Serinde was here! :) Hungarian makes my head hurt sometimes, but it's a neat language. I was trying to edit the page on the tekerőlant to insert a photo of the Hungarian model (I was interested in that because I play the tekerőlant), but I couldn't figure out how to metawiki an image from the English site. I guess I should just upload it to the Hungarian wiki. :) - Sensor 23:43, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
-
- I think you should use Wikimedia Commons, so that other wikis can use it too. :) HuWiki can only use images that were uploaded either to Commons or to HuWiki. Alensha 00:02, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

-
- Of course. *slaps head* The Commons. Thanks - Sensor 00:07, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks
Thanks for the kind words on my talk page. :) It's always nice to have a few random words of encouragement. --Jacquelyn Marie 03:05, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hydrocarbons on other planets
This article has been rewritten to reflect current knowledge. I urge you to take a look at it and reconsider your delete vote. Thanks. Denni☯ 03:08, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

- Article looks a heck of a lot better now. It's actually ... gasp ... useful! Delete vote changed to keep. Thanks for making WP useful. - Sensor 03:13, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] a misplaced AFD
it seems that the user that sumbitted an Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/St. Louis Mills did so incorrectly, they seem to have put it in a sub page under Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/CrystalPlayer so consquently it didn't look right having two afds on one page, I just wanted to let you know that I have moved your vote and comments and this to what I think is the correct location. -- Malo 05:34, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Good work
From one Delaware (to presumably another) - Good work on all the Delaware-related articles you have been doing :) →Raul654 19:51, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yes, I am a Delawarean, and there's plenty of stuff here to write about. (I probably won't get to expanding the Ebright Azimuth article for a while, though.) - Sensor 07:39, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Riblets
Tasty death bones...hey, I think I just named a punk-cover band. Youngamerican 02:48, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
- Does it meet the criteria of WP:Music? Guess I've been spending too much time looking at votes for deleteting bandcruft. - Sensor 03:08, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Faculty bash
How would the comedy show be verified? I have videos, but can't exactly send them anywhere. I'm also working on an entry for the community college the show was held at, so I need a little advice on how it could be incorporated and/or why it's necessary for deletion. Thanks for your time.
- Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. First, please sign your comments with ~~~~ at the end, so I know who you are.
- Now, with regard to verification, that's only part of the puzzle. The article was marked for deletion because the faculty bash was not asserted to be notable. Notability is an extremely important element of a good Wikipedia article. The guideline states that something is notable if it "is known outside of a narrow interest group or constituency, or should be because of its particular importance or impact." In the case of the faculty bash, the article as written does not really show how the bash is notable. If you can point to facts that make it notable -- that it won awards, was broadcast on national TV or even a cable channel, etc. -- you might well be able to get it to fit the bill, but otherwise it will likely be deleted as non-notable. This policy is in place simply because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and unnotable things are not encyclopedic.
- You would probably be better off writing an article about the community college in general -- which will almost certainly be notable -- and insert the faculty bash as a subheading in the main article.
- It's really not as complicated as it seems. Just try it as it goes, and don't hesitate to ask for help at the Help Desk or by asking me.

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Kilta.jpg: The Search for Copyvios
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Kilta.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -SCEhardT 06:21, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Datamil_ssx_de_map.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Datamil_ssx_de_map.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
