Senzu

Senzu (仙豆, Holy Beans^?) are a food in the fictional manga and Anime Dragon Ball. They are beans green in color which, when eaten, restore the eater to perfect health. Their texture is said to be between an uncooked or under ripe bean and celery stalk. While extremely powerful, (they were once able to heal a hole in the torso of Yamcha, restore Videl's lost teeth, and in the Mirai Trunks special chapter, he talks to Gohan about how his severed arm would have been restored had the Senzu plant not died out) they are not infallible; they cannot cure sicknesses or ailments such as the heart disease Son Gokū contracted in the Andriod Saga. It is said that eating one bean is equivalent to 10 days worth of food.

Senzu are grown by Karin-sama, the Neko-Sen'nin (Cat-Hermit) who lives in a giant Karin-Tō with Yajirobe. Usually Karin grows the beans and Yajirobe delivers them to the Z Warriors.

Gokū is very generous with the Senzu and sometimes gives them to his enemies after hard fights, for example Piccolo and Cell.
