Senwosri

Senwosri is a familial name of ancient Egyptian kings generally regarded today to mean "Senusret." As an example, "Senwosri III" would be regarded as the same as Senusret III.
Historically, the name "Senwosri" was corrupted into an alternate form, "Sesostris" (see Sesostris).
The name "Sesostris" has additionally gained an alternate meaning, as a name of a legendary or mythical figure (see Sesostris) attributed to by such ancient Greeks as Herodotus, Diodorus Siculus (who called him "Sesoosis") and Strabo (ref. Sesostris).[citation needed]
