Senhora da Hora is one of the most important parishes (freguesias) of Matosinhos city. It's a great habitational area with many houses and buildings for habitation use. The metropolitan transport service of Metro do Porto passes right through the center of Senhora da Hora and the place is one of the most important stops of this public transport system with various connections to other lines and road transports. Here is also located the bigger commercial stucture in the north of Portugal Norte Shopping a bigg shopping mall that is normally full on the weekends. Althoug Senhora da Hora is a pleasant place for living since it is quite civilized, there are some problematic neighbourhoods located near the place.

Senhora da Hora has got some sports infrasructures like small football and basket fields, tennis courts etc. It has also a football stadium home of the local amateur team SC Senhora da Hora.
