Seneca is a village in Thomas County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 51 at the 2000 census.

Seneca is located at 42°2′34″N, 100°49′54″W (42.042717, -100.831763)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 51 people, 26 households, and 17 families residing in the village. The population density was 164.1/km² (422.8/mi²). There were 52 housing units at an average density of 167.3/km² (431.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White.

There were 26 households out of which 23.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 15.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.6% were non-families. 34.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.96 and the average family size was 2.47.

In the village the population was spread out with 19.6% under the age of 18, 2.0% from 18 to 24, 19.6% from 25 to 44, 35.3% from 45 to 64, and 23.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 48 years. For every 100 females there were 75.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 64.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $20,833, and the median income for a family was $21,667. Males had a median income of $26,250 versus $20,500 for females. The per capita income for the village was $15,803. There were 16.7% of families and 12.1% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 23.1% of those over 64.
