Selwyn Dewdney (1909-1979) was a member of the local arts community in London, Ontario.

He documented hundreds of ancient native pictographs in Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan, and authored the book The Sacred Scrolls of the Southern Ojibway, a study of picotographic art. He authored several books and papers. With his wife Irene, he pioneered art therapy in Canada and was appointed psychiatric art therapist at London's Westminister Hospital in 1952. He edited the book Legends Of My People by Anishnaabe artist Norval Morrisseau, and is credited as the one who "discovered" Morrisseau.
